ACME Concrete Paving is seeking a dedicated and experienced

Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO)

to join our team and oversee safety protocols on a

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE)/Department of Defense (DOD)

project. The SSHO will be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal safety standards, maintaining a proactive safety culture, and fostering an environment where safety is the top priority. This role is integral to our mission of delivering high-quality projects while ensuring the safety of our team and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive site-specific safety plans that meet OSHA, USACE EM 385-1-1, and company standards. Conduct daily on-site safety inspections and hazard analyses, providing the crew and management with real-time feedback. Lead safety meetings and training sessions on hazard awareness, personal protective equipment (PPE), and emergency response protocols. Monitor traffic control plans and ensure public safety during high-risk activities. Investigate all incidents and near-misses, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Maintain and submit all required safety documentation, including inspection logs, incident reports, and training records. Serve as a liaison with project management, regulatory agencies, and clients regarding safety matters. Foster a positive safety culture, encouraging open communication and adherence to safety best practices. Qualifications: A minimum of

5 years of safety management experience

on construction sites, with specific expertise in concrete paving or similar operations. In-depth knowledge of

OSHA standards, EM 385-1-1, and federal safety regulations . Proven track record of successfully implementing and leading safety programs on USACE/DOD projects. Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and educate diverse teams. Strong analytical skills to identify potential hazards and implement effective solutions. Current certifications in

OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety ,

First Aid/CPR , and other relevant credentials (e.g., CHST, STS, CSP preferred). Salary and Benefits: Salary Range: $80,000 to $110,000 per year.
