Overview
The Division of Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics at Cincinnati Children’s seeks to recruit a full-time Dentist Anesthesiologist faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
The successful candidate will partner with world-class pediatric dental faculty to provide advanced anesthesia and pain management for dental and oral surgeries. Clinically, the practice environment includes over 30,000 visits per year across 2 clinics and 4 operating room sites. We maintain a busy level 1 trauma service and are committed to excellence in resuscitation procedures and team-based care.
The division is internationally recognized for clinical and educational excellence in the management of hospitalized patients, non-pharmacologic and pharmacologic behavior guidance, procedural sedation, and simulation-based training of residents. The division comprises seven primary full-time faculty and three regular part-time faculty. The dentist anesthesiologist will provide care in the operating room and in-office general anesthesia suites for pediatric dentists and will be involved in the education of pediatric dental residents both didactically and clinically.
Mission The division serves a two-fold primary mission:
Care of hospitalized, fragile, and immunocompromised patients, including those with special needs.
Regional safety-net clinic serving underserved populations in neighboring counties in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky, as well as nationwide and global communities.
Responsibilities Key responsibilities include providing anesthesia services in the operating room and in-office general anesthesia suites for pediatric patients, contributing to education of pediatric dental residents, and participating in didactic and clinical teaching.
Qualifications Required:
D.M.D. or D.D.S. from an accredited dental school
Board-certified or board-eligible in Dental Anesthesiology
Accredited dental anesthesiology residency completion
PALS/BLS/ACLS
Experience working with pediatric patients and patients with special needs
Current active dental license issued by the State of Ohio or eligible for license
Appropriate credentialing through the Medical Staff Services offices
Completion of all required pre-employment activities (screening, background check, badging, and orientation)
Assistant or Associate Professor appointment or eligibility required
Prior clinical practice experience may be required based on the specific needs of the hiring department
Preferred:
Board certification
