Active Directory (AD) Administrator Position Summary

The successful candidate will be part of an Enterprise AD Support Team supporting over 265,000 user accounts and 140,000 computer accounts across several AD domains on government-operated networks. The AD support team maintains accounts and group management; security configuration of the AD infrastructure; DNS; DHCP; DFS Replication services; GPOs; and other directory services technologies as applicable. The candidate will provide Tier III level AD support and must have knowledge of the Microsoft Windows Server operating system and related AD applications (such as Lync, System Center Suite, and Exchange). The infrastructure includes physical servers and VMware-based servers and requires knowledge of VMware Virtualization and VMware vCloud to perform Enterprise Directory and Messaging tasks. The salary offered will depend on education, certifications, length and relevance of work history, and professional experience. Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain the overall health of technologies associated with AD and the internal Domain Name System (DNS). Resolve AD tickets escalated from the service desk, complete administrative activities, and provide a weekly status report. Coordinate incident tickets between Tier II and III sections, as well as other sections as required. Provide documentation, guidance, and instruction to Tier II and service desks for handling standard AD-related incidents, work orders, and service requests. Provide AD Service Desk Resolution Reports documentation to the service desk on procedures for completing tasks. Submit and execute AD-related Change Requests. Monitor AD system availability and performance with government-provided event management tools and take corrective action for incidents affecting health. Provide project support for AD-related technologies. Coordinate with the Engineering Team and other sections on AD-related issues. Support the change management process, submit requests through the Change Approval Board, and participate in Change Review Boards. Escalate product issues to third-party vendors with government approval. Implement monitoring tool thresholds and conduct proactive remediation. Provide analysis and remediation for DISA STIGs for all responsible technologies in preparation for CCRI. Competencies

DoD 8580 IAT III (CASP+CE, CCNP Security, CISA, GCIH, GCED, or CISSP or Associate) Professional level certification, e.g., MCSA Windows Server 2012/2016/2019, MCSE Core Infrastructure, MS Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Background and Experience

7+ years of related experience Firewall/DMZ experience, certificate configuration, troubleshooting Experience with PowerShell commands to manage AD features, roles, mailboxes, performance, and troubleshooting Experience in identifying the need for AD system reconfigurations Experience in maintaining policies, procedures, and training plans for AD administration and appropriate use Experience in building, tuning, and maintaining servers in an enterprise environment Experience in troubleshooting server performance issues using native Windows Server tools Strong experience with AD 2012/2016/2019, including planning, deploying, and migrating; mailbox server failover and cluster management Extensive knowledge of AD architecture, databases and logs, mail routing, and protocol support Working knowledge of MS Windows Server 2012/2016/2019 Required Technical Skills

Ability to evaluate the need for messaging system reconfigurations (minor or significant) Ability to maintain policies, procedures, and training plans for messaging system administration and appropriate use Thorough working knowledge of MS Windows Server 2012/2016/2019 Thorough working knowledge of AD as it relates to enterprise technologies Ability to identify and troubleshoot server performance issues using native Windows Server tools and utilities Plan for future upgrades, including AD migration to newer versions Physical Demands and Work Environment

General office environment; sedentary work with possible movement about the office up to 10% of the time. Lighting and temperature are generally favorable.
