Overview We’re looking for a self-starter that thrives in a challenging environment, a team player who seeks new solutions and is willing to both teach and learn. The successful candidate will be part of an Enterprise Tier 3 level Active Directory (AD) Support team supporting over 265,000 user accounts and 140,000 computer accounts across several AD domains on government operated networks. The services that the AD Support team supports in Active Directory include accounts and group management; security configuration of the AD infrastructure; Domain Name Service (DNS); Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol; Distributed File Replication Services; Group Policy Objects; and other directory services technologies as applicable. The candidate will provide Tier III level Active Directory support and requires knowledge of the Windows Server Operating System and relevant AD applications (such as Lync, System Center Suite, and Exchange). The underlying infrastructure consists of both physical servers and VMware based servers and requires knowledge in VMware Virtualization and VMware vCloud to perform the specialized EDM Active Directory tasks.
Responsibilities
Maintain the overall health of technologies associated with AD and internal DNS.
Resolve Active Directory tickets escalated from the service desk and provide a weekly status report.
Coordinate incident tickets between Tier II and III sections as well as other sections as required.
Provide documentation, guidance and instruction to Tier II and service desks for handling standard Active Directory incidents, work orders, and service requests.
Provide Active Directory Service Desk Resolution Reports documentation to the service desk on procedures for completing tasks.
Submit and execute AD related Change Requests (RFCs).
Monitor AD system availability and performance using government-provided event management tools and take corrective action for incidents impacting AD health.
Provide project support for AD related technologies.
Coordinate with Engineering and other sections on AD-related issues.
Support change management process; submit requests through Change Advisory Board and participate in Change Review Boards.
Escalate product issues to third party vendors with Government approval; implement monitoring tool thresholds and perform proactive remediation.
Provide analysis and remediation for DISA STIGs for responsible technologies in preparation for CCRI.
Qualifications
DoD 8570 IAT III (CASP+CE, CCNP Security, CISA, GCIH, GCED, or CISSP or Associate) can attain within 180 days.
Professional level certification, e.g. MCSA Windows Server 2012/2016/2019, MCSE Core Infrastructure, Microsoft Windows Server Hybrid Administrator.
7 years related Active Directory experience.
Experience with PowerShell commands to manage AD features, roles, mailboxes, performance and troubleshooting.
Experience with Windows Server operating system and AD applications (Lync, System Center Suite, Exchange).
Experience with VMware Virtualization and VMware vCloud.
Education, Background, And Experience
7 years related Active Directory experience.
Experience configuring firewalls/DMZs, certificates; troubleshooting.
Experience building, tuning and maintaining servers in an enterprise environment.
Strong knowledge of Active Directory 2012/2016/2019, planning, deployment and migration, including mailbox server failover and cluster management.
Working Conditions
General office environment; some travel (0-10%); possible off-hours work to support releases and outages.
Physical requirements and strengths typical for office work and occasional lifting up to 10 lbs.
