Overview
EHS Lead (Environmental Health & Safety) role at Amtec Staffing. The EHS Lead has to be a "critical thinker" who can operate with autonomy, embrace accountability and has a mindset for continuous improvement. The client offers a great working environment, competitive salary, stability and potential growth. Base pay range: $26.00/hr - $30.00/hr. Responsibilities
Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS programs, policies, and procedures. Conduct and oversee site inspections, risk assessments, and hazard analyses to proactively identify and mitigate risks. Facilitate root cause analyses for incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; develop corrective action plans and ensure follow-through. Deliver and support EHS training initiatives to increase workforce awareness and competency. Collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to integrate EHS principles into daily activities. Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA). Analyze EHS data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and report key performance indicators to management. Coordinate emergency preparedness programs and drills. Serve as a subject matter expert and internal consultant for EHS topics. Support sustainability initiatives and waste minimization efforts. Mentor and guide EHS Assistants, interns, and less experienced staff. Maintain familiarity with company policies and procedures pertaining to Quality Manual, Food Security/Food Defense, Sanitation, cGMPs, and HACCP/Food Safety. Regular, punctual attendance is required. Other duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field preferred. Minimum 3-5+ years of relevant EHS experience in manufacturing, industrial, or construction settings. Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations. Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or equivalent credential preferred. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to conduct training and communicate technical information effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management systems. Must report to any company facility according to company need, sometimes with same-day notice. Additional information
