Summary
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) performs comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, orders, conducts, supervises, interprets diagnostic and laboratory tests, and prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments in the direct management of acute and chronic illness in care of the acutely ill and recovering patient. Promotes health and the prevention of illness and injury. Practices autonomously and in collaboration with other health care professionals to treat and manage patient health problems. The role of the APP includes direct patient/family care, coordination, and disposition of patients, consultation, research, patient/families/ groups/ and community advocacy to holistically care for complex patient care needs. Serves as a member of the acute care and surgical team with the primary responsibility of managing a caseload of acute care patients under the supervision of a physician. Qualifications
Requirements: Master\'s Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Nurse or Master\'s Degree as a Physician Assistant by the National Board of Medical Examiners, or, the Academy of Physician\'s Assistants Two (2) or more years of experience as a critical care nurse or two (2) years serving as a Physician Assistant Current Georgia License as a Registered Professional Nurse is required for NPs. Current Georgia Authorization/Certification as a NP Advanced Practice Registered Professional Nurse is required Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, or Physician\'s Assistant, specializing in critical care services for in-patient setting Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardio Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
