– Valley View School District 365U is hiring for a full-time Autism teaching position for the 2025-2026 school year. The position may qualify for a $3,500 hiring incentive. For additional information, please inquire through Human Resources. JOB SUMMARY

The Autism teacher is responsible for planning and delivering instructional lessons that meet the needs of autistic students, creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning, and employing effective instructional techniques. Additional duties may be assigned in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policies and requirements. Qualifications

Current Illinois Professional Education License Teaching (PEL) Current endorsement LBS1 Certificate Knowledge and experience with autistic learners Satisfactory special education teaching experience Expertise in behavior management strategies Ability to write and implement Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) Excellent communication skills with students, teachers and parents Ability to work cooperatively with others ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Design high-content, engaging work for students Plan and instruct students on District and State Standards aligned curriculum, using integrated or direct service approaches as appropriate based on individual student needs Accommodate, modify and adapt lessons and curriculum to meet individual student needs and IEP goals Support in the facilitation of IEP meetings and development of the IEP Establish a safe, positive classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the developmental levels and interests of students Plan collaboratively with staff to develop specially designed instruction, utilizing different co-teaching models as appropriate to student needs Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the developmental levels and interests of students Modify, adapt and conduct formal and informal assessments to evaluate student progress; administer standardized and informal assessments as directed, modify and adapt tests, environment or equipment as needed Monitor and review student progress via assessment data; maintain records of student work; develop intervention strategies to support student growth Set and communicate clear expectations for classroom behavior and school environment, applying positive reinforcement and/or behavior modification techniques; assist in the development and implementation of student behavior intervention plans Communicate regularly with parents, other educators and students on progress Collaborate with other Teachers, Paraprofessionals and specialists to discuss modifications or adaptations, learning issues, interventions or areas of concern Attend and actively participate in building and District Teams to facilitate early involvement and resolution of concerns Collaborate with staff in planning, modifying, enhancing and implementing curriculum, school and District goals and objectives Enforce and support District and School policies, philosophies and objectives with students and parents Participate in staff development and school improvement activities to maintain professional growth; plan and implement best practices and strategies Participate in events outside of the regular work day Other duties as assigned WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in an environment where unusual temperature, noise and hazards are relatively nonexistent. Some lifting, pulling or pushing may be required during the normal performance of tasks and responsibilities. Pay Scale And Benefit Disclosure
