Job Summary The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is the primary sales contact for assigned warehouse distributors and secondary contact for jobbers within their territory, typically in Michigan. This role involves travel outside the area as needed and requires being centrally located within the territory. Primary Duties
Drive sales, profitability, and brand awareness with mid-sized traditional customers to support business goals.
Work with current and potential customers to expand distribution and optimize inventory within existing categories.
Maintain relationships with assigned accounts to ensure proper product presentation and promotion.
Engage regularly with customers and represent Dorman at events.
Assist with pull-through activities like training, market blitzes, and changeovers as needed.
Monitor market trends and communicate competitive risks, opportunities, and new product ideas to corporate.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Self-motivated with ability to work remotely.
Experience in competitive selling and strong presentation skills.
Travel flexibility: 50% or more, including weekends.
Physical ability to lift 20 pounds.
Work environment involves reaching, swiveling, carrying, speaking, and listening; noise levels are moderate.
Education / Experience
Bachelor's degree in business, automotive technology, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
Experience with WDs, Jobbers, or Technicians is a plus.
