Consultant- Building Enclosures and Structural Engineering (Design and Diagnostics/Forensics)
A leading architecture and engineering firm in New York City is seeking an experienced Façade Restoration Consultant to join its Building Envelope division. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-profile restoration and inspection projects across the city's diverse architectural landscape. Base pay range
$90,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr Responsibilities
Support the development and oversight of FISP/Local Law 11 projects across NYC Performing periodic hands-on inspections using industrial rope techniques Provide expert consultation on existing façade systems for restoration, enhancement, and maintenance projects, covering forensic analysis, bid documentation, repair detailing, and construction administration Collaborate across internal departments to support proposal development, budget tracking, and project coordination Build and maintain strong client relationships while ensuring timely delivery of project milestones and cross-functional support Advise on building enclosure performance, constructability, and long-term durability Prepare clear, detailed technical reports and documentation throughout project lifecycles Oversee staff performance and progress within the restoration team, including mentoring and technical guidance Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing through presentations and case studies Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience in building envelope and façade restoration projects Hands-on experience with industrial rope access; SPRAT certification is preferred Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or Engineering Licensed Architect or Professional Engineer is ideal Strong understanding of architectural design principles and local building codes, including energy regulations Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural and construction drawings Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with strong organizational capabilities Familiarity with inspection protocols and certifications is a plus Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and other documentation tools Demonstrated ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with a balance of detail orientation and strategic thinking Seniority level
