Role Overview
We are seeking a
Structural Restoration Engineer
to lead inspection and repair projects across New York City, with a particular focus on parking garages and other structural systems requiring rehabilitation. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, field-driven environment and is ready to take ownership of high-impact projects.
You’ll manage restoration efforts from initial assessment through construction, coordinate with clients and contractors, and mentor junior engineers. You’ll also contribute to the firm’s technical leadership and help shape best practices in structural restoration.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct structural inspections of parking garages, plazas, podiums, and other reinforced concrete systems
Develop repair scopes, technical specifications, and construction documents for structural restoration projects
Manage multiple projects across NYC, including budgeting, scheduling, and client communications
Perform site visits and oversee construction administration to ensure quality and compliance
Collaborate with architects, contractors, and city agencies to resolve field challenges
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal training and development
Stay current with NYC building codes, restoration standards, and emerging technologies
Qualifications
Minimum 4 years of experience in structural inspection and restoration, preferably in NYC
Strong background in parking garage inspections and repairs, reinforced concrete, and structural repair
Proven experience managing restoration projects from assessment through construction
Familiarity with NYC building codes and DOB filing procedures
Professional licensure: PE (Professional Engineer) preferred but not required
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
