The Power Tool Carpentry Reliability Engineer's primary duties are to utilize engineering skills to contribute to the development and qualification of new products. The Reliability Engineer is a member of the New Product Development Team reporting to the Carpentry Reliability/Quality Manager.
Responsibilities
Product Development (40%): Review new product designs and engineering changes with respect to reliability, user requirements and warranty information Product Development (40%): Participate and lead Benchmarking and performance testing activities based on product intent and Marketing inputs Product Development (40%): Identify -critical to quality- (CtQ) user need requirements on mechanical and electrical design features Product Development (40%): Track multiple projects simultaneously to ensure adherence to quality and reliability targets to support the larger Milwaukee Tool NPD process Product Development (40%): Participate and collaborate on project teams involving Marketing and Engineering. Leading discussions and decisions for reliability, serviceability, quality, testing, and root cause investigation. Testing (40%): Develop test plans and procedures based on new or established products, to ensure product meets design targets and customer requirements Testing (40%): Collaborate with test laboratories to ensure full test completion and best practices are utilized Testing (40%): Report and present product information utilizing statistical techniques such as Weibull analysis, reliability distributions and matrices Testing (40%): Draw concise, logical, written conclusions from experiments and testing based on data analysis Testing (40%): Ensure timely failure reporting, root cause analysis and effective corrective/preventative actions (FRACA) Quality (20%): Work with Advanced Engineering teams and suppliers to qualify new carpentry tool designs Quality (20%): Monitor quality efforts on new parts, production lines, and suppliers. Quality (20%): Attend and perform Quality audits ensuring production readiness on the production line Requirements
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or educational equivalent Previous experience with Design of Experiments, writing requirements, Life data analysis and other related statistical tools and software (i.e. Minitab, Reliasoft) Written and verbal communication skills and creative problem-solving capabilities Ability to travel 20% of the time is required (travel includes Domestic and International) Preferred: The ability and desire to achieve ASQ Reliability Engineering Certification (ASQ-CRE) Benefits
