Under Pharmaceutical Services, the Pharmacy Technician II provides pharmaceutical care to patients at Parnassus and Mission Bay campuses and specialized services to researchers on campus. All Pharmacy Technicians are accountable to the supervising or operating pharmacist who is legally responsible by virtue of state licensure for the care and safety of patients served by Pharmaceutical Services. The Pharmacy Technician II performs all activities related to medication preparation, inventory management, and computer entries of prescriptions. Salary and Benefits The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $36.05 - $44.91 (Hourly Rate). The Pharmacy Technician II provides pharmaceutical care to patients and specialized services to researchers on campus and is accountable to the supervising or operating pharmacist. Performs all activities related to medication preparation, inventory management, and computer entries of prescriptions. Department Description
The Department of Pharmaceutical Services provides a full range of services for patients cared for by the UCSF Medical Center and its providers and payors. These services include, but are not limited to: drug procurement, storage, and security; safe, accurate and timely preparation and distribution of drugs; clinical pharmacy services for patients; development of drug use policies within the Medical Center; drug information services for clinicians and patients; and participation in technology assessment and quality assurance programs. The Department of Pharmaceutical Services is affiliated with the UCSF Department of Clinical Pharmacy, an academic department within the School of Pharmacy, which has primary responsibility for teaching professional courses in the Pharm.D. curriculum, clinical research, and public and clinical service. Required Qualifications
Completion of a recognized/accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program (includes hands-on training period during externship), or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum two (2) years experience in a Specialty Pharmacy and/or in a retail/community pharmacy, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Qualifications
Pharmacy Technician Certification CPhT License/Certification
Licensed Pharmacy Technician by the California Board of Pharmacy and in good standing. About UCSF
