The Department of Pharmaceutical Services provides a full range of services for patients cared for by the UCSF Medical Center and its providers and payors. These services include, but are not limited to: drug procurement, storage, and security; safe, accurate and timely preparation and distribution of drugs; clinical pharmacy services for patients; development of drug use policies within the Medical Center; drug information services for clinicians and patients; and participation in technology assessment and quality assurance programs.
The Department of Pharmaceutical Services is affiliated with the UCSF Department of Clinical Pharmacy, an academic department within the School of Pharmacy, which has primary responsibility for teaching professional courses in the Pharm.D. curriculum, clinical research, and public and clinical service.
Under Pharmaceutical Services, the Pharmacy Technician 2/Pharmacy Technician 2 PD, provides pharmaceutical care to patients at Moffitt, Long, and Mount Zion and specialized services to researchers on campus. All Pharmacy Technicians are accountable to the supervising or operating pharmacist who is legally responsible by virtue of state licensure for the care and safety of patients served by Pharmaceutical Services.
The Pharmacy Technician 2 performs all activities related to medication preparation, medication distribution, and inventory management.
The salary range for this position is $36.05 - $44.91 (Hourly Rate).

Licensed Pharmacy Technician by the California Board of Pharmacy and in good standing. Minimum of two (2) years as Pharmacy Tech in Hospitals or Health Care or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess the skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the positions. Completion of a recognized/accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program (includes hands-on training period during externship), or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Qualifications
Pharmacy Technician certification CPhT License/Certification
