Senior Business Analyst – SAFe® Agile

plays a pivotal role in enabling IT delivery through facilitation of Agile practices, data-driven analysis, and Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) principles. They are responsible for translating complex business requirements into actionable features and user stories, facilitating Agile Release Trains (ARTs), and ensuring alignment across cross-functional teams. This

will leverage Agile and LPM metrics, provide data-driven insights to monitor performance, assess delivery risks, and support informed decision-making. They are integral in advancing our Agile maturity and ensuring solutions delivered have measurable business value aligned to portfolio priorities. Operating within the SAFe® framework, this

Sr. BA

supports Program Increment (PI) planning, facilitates cross-team coordination, and ensures alignment between business requirements and technical implementation.

Responsibilities

Translate business requirements into epics, features, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.

Facilitate Agile ceremonies and PI Planning; support backlog refinement and cross-team coordination.

Prioritize features and manage dependencies across Agile Release Trains to align delivery with business priorities.

Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Developers, QA, and stakeholders to ensure feasible and valuable solutions.

Refine the portfolio backlog and support coordination across value streams to accelerate execution.

Maintain healthy backlogs and ensure items are ready for development.

Map current and future states, identify gaps, and propose opportunities for improvement and automation.

Track progress, manage scope changes, and communicate delivery impacts to stakeholders; support change management and adoption.

Use metrics (velocity, cycle time, predictability) to inform planning, surface risks, and drive continuous improvement; create dashboards as needed.

Lead demos and post-implementation reviews; gather feedback and ensure user satisfaction.

Mentor other analysts on SAFe® principles, backlog practices, and delivery techniques.

Be open to evolving responsibilities and contribute wherever value can be added.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Systems or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Product Analyst.

2+ years supporting SAFe® or scaled Agile delivery.

Proven ability to elicit, analyze, and document complex business requirements, translating them into actionable epics, features, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.

Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders and effectively communicating business value, delivery risks, and insights to both technical teams and leadership.

Strong understanding of SAFe® principles, PI planning, and Agile Release Train operations.

Proficient in Azure DevOps (ADO) and Jira for backlog management and tracking delivery progress in enterprise IT environments.

Understanding Lean Portfolio Management, business process improvement, and alignment to organizational goals, OKRs, KPIs, and value streams.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Product Analyst.

5+ years supporting SAFe® or scaled Agile delivery.

Certification in Agile/Scrum and/or SAFe® (e.g., CSPO, SAFe® Agilist, POPM).

SAFe® Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) certification; additional certifications such as AgileBA®, ICAgile, ICP-BAF; and training in Agile metrics and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Jira dashboards).
