Job Overview
The Senior Engineering Manager for the OEM & Wire Management division plays a pivotal role aligning HCGT engineering resources by leading the 125M of OEM and Wire Management Engineering PLBT Team for Burndy and Connector Manufacturing company (both brands within CGT). Tasked with leading a dynamic team of engineers, this individual ensures the alignment of product line initiatives with both market trends and the company’s broader vision for innovation and excellence. The manager will oversee the lifecycle of key product portfolios, guiding concept development, market introduction, and ongoing optimization. In this leadership capacity, the manager collaborates cross-functionally with engineering, marketing, and sales teams to deliver solutions tailored to evolving customer needs across diverse sectors—including OEM, renewable energy, transportation, and telecommunications. This role demands a proactive approach in the identification of emerging and adjacent connector/wire management technologies for growth. The supervisor will foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, providing mentorship, facilitating knowledge sharing, and championing best practices throughout the product management discipline. By ensuring robust communication and coordination among internal stakeholders, the director will drive operational excellence and reinforce Hubbell’s legacy as an industry leader in electrical and power solutions. Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers, promoting professional growth and skill development. Plan, prioritize, and delegate engineering tasks to ensure timely project completions and high standards of quality. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements, scope, and deliverables. Oversee the design, development, and implementation of software or hardware solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and address performance issues as needed. Establish and enforce best practices for coding, testing, and deployment processes. Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies. Manage resource allocation and budgeting for engineering projects. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team. Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory standards. Act as a thought leader within the OEM and Wire Management space, supporting marketing with valuable webinars, white papers, and speaking opportunities. Serve as a subject matter expert on the market, solutions, and product capabilities. Skills and Experience
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent market experience in a technical field or business field is preferred, along with a minimum of 7-10 years of related experience. Knowledge of current and emerging technologies, methods, and standards, applications, related products and channels of distribution within the Electrical Market. Preferable experience in the Electrical OEM Space or Wire Management space related design and engineering processes and market applications (Cable Tray, Cable Cleats, etc). Must be self-reliant, resourceful, creative, and possess acumen in executing business decisions. Excellent oral and written communication skills needed to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, and the general public. Ability to organize and manage ad-hoc teams to support the development of business opportunities. Must apply critical thinking skills to determine best approach to bring new products to market and to work with engineering, operations, marketing and sales staff. Capable of occasional travel to attend meetings or visit customers. Strong mathematics, analytical and computer skills. About Hubbell
