Leidos Defense Systems Sector is seeking a
Sustainment Chief Engineer
to join the Indirect Fire Protection Capability Increment 2 (IFPC Inc2) Program. The program is a ground-based, mobile system that aims to combat cruise missiles and unmanned aircraft systems. The Sustainment Chief Engineer will track sustainment-related activities, such as root cause analyses of in-service problems and logistics deliverables for fielded IFPC Inc 2 launchers, and report status to the program's technical leadership. The role serves as a technical liaison with customer representatives and users, ensuring fielded systems remain operational, reliable, and safe.
Responsibilities
Lead root cause analysis of in-service problems, including reliability degradation and operational hazards.
Address software sustainment engineering considerations and provide support to LOG IPT from an engineering perspective.
Contribute to user manuals, emplacement procedures, and repair/replace procedures; guide engineering disposition of rework/repair on maintenance items.
Assist in spares packaging development/review and drawings; participate in provisioning conference input from engineering perspective, including drawing plans.
Support tracking of in-field configuration changes/updates and development of field service bulletins.
Develop required design changes to resolve operational issues; participate in MIP review boards and DMSMS mitigation (parts obsolescence, technology refresh/insertion).
Provide engineering dispositions, updates to technical manuals/technical orders, and determine repair/upgrade versus disposal or retirement decisions.
Support Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS); develop engineering cut-in execution plans and field retrofit kits.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent from ABET-accredited university with 12+ years of experience, or MS with 10+ years.
Basic understanding of weapons platform systems development lifecycle.
Experience leading cross-discipline and product teams; able to communicate effectively within a team and lead technical reviews.
Residency in North Alabama or willingness to relocate to Huntsville/North Alabama, AL area.
Possess a secret clearance or ability to obtain one.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with logistics deliverables (user manuals, repair/replace procedures, field service bulletins) and reliability analyses (failure causes/effects, maintainability, obsolescence).
Direct experience with system users; MBSE and requirements management tools.
Demonstrated leadership of engineering teams and ability to accurately estimate engineering effort.
Understanding of DoD acquisition processes; experience supporting one or more DoD programs.
OCSMP certification or INCOSE SEP (CSEP level) preferred.

$126,100.00 - $227,950.00
