Overview
The Test Engineering team works across the entire spectrum of products including Bolt, Altius, Lattice, Ghost UAS, Sentry Tower, cUAS and other platforms. The team conducts full system level development testing, new aircraft development, sub-component qualification testing and more. What you'll do
As a Staff Flight Test Engineer under minimal supervision, determine and develop approaches to achieve T&E goals for a Small UAS/Quadcopter and guide and perform the completion of test activities.
Focus heavily on new SUAS/Quadcopter aircraft development with emphasis in electronics, avionics, propulsion, flight characteristics, rugged design, and quality at scale.
Test duties include system and sub-system level T&E of hardware and software. Support or lead test planning, establish test measures of success, conduct tests (ground and flight), analyze test performance, and drive process improvement/development.
Required Skills
Bachelor's degree or related technical discipline and 3+ years SUAS flight test engineering experience.
Experience with the National Airspace System and UAS operating rules and regulations.
Experience with energetics, explosive hazard handling and operation procedures, and Electronic Safe-Arming Device (ESAD) is preferred.
Strong understanding of SUAS/Quadcopter engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory; broad application and knowledge in related technical specialties.
Ability to understand new concepts quickly, apply them, organize and coordinate work phases, and provide solutions to complex problems.
Strong software and documentation experience; excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team; capable of performing complex tasks in one or more engineering areas.
Able to work extended hours as required and able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Ability to travel as required for planning and testing.
