The Test Engineering team works across the entire spectrum of products ranging from Bolt, Altius, Lattice, Ghost UAS, Sentry Tower, cUAS and other platforms. Our team conducts full system level development testing, new aircraft development, sub-component qualification testing and much more. What you’ll do
As a Staff Flight Test Engineer under minimal supervision, you will determine and develop various approaches to achieve T&E goals for a Small UAS/Quadcopter and help guide and perform the completion of test activities. This position will focus heavily on new SUAS/Quadcopter aircraft development, with an emphasis in electronics, avionics, propulsion, flight characteristics, rugged design, and quality at scale. Test duties include system and sub-system level T&E of hardware and software. As part of this process you will support or lead in test planning, establishing test measures of success, test conducting (ground and flight), analyzing test performance, and driving process improvement/development.
Required Skills
A bachelor's degree or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and 3+ years SUAS flight test engineering experience. Previous expertise and working knowledge of the National Airspace System and UAS operating rules and regulations thereof. Previous experience in working with energetics, explosive hazard handling and operation procedures, and Electronic Safe-Arming Device (ESAD) are preferred. Must have a complete understanding of and passion for SUAS/Quadcopter engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory; experience demonstrating a broad application of those concepts; and, expansive knowledge of principles, concepts, theory, and practices in related technical specialties. Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly; apply them accurately; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; and, determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level to provide solutions to a range of complex problems. Strong software and documentation experience. Must have strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team; able to perform complex tasks in one or more engineering areas. Able to work extended hours as required. Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Ability to travel as required for planning and testing.
Salary and Benefits
US Salary Range: $146,000 - $194,000 USD The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full-time offers and are part of Anduril’s total compensation package.
