Overview
Sr. Advanced Systems Engineer role at Honeywell. You will be part of the PMC Engineering group, leading the systems-level design and integration of portable gas detectors used in critical safety applications. You will contribute to all phases of product development — from concept and architecture definition to validation, compliance testing, and deployment — while coordinating closely with interdisciplinary teams across Mechanical, Firmware, Electrical, and Systems Engineering. Your technical expertise will directly impact Honeywell’s ability to deliver reliable, compliant, and innovative products that meet the needs of industrial workers and first responders worldwide. Key Responsibilities
Serve as the systems integrator for portable gas detection products, defining system-level architecture and coordinating responsibilities across mechanical, electrical, software, and firmware teams Lead end-to-end systems engineering activities from concept through validation and deployment, ensuring alignment with project milestones and technical requirements Define and manage system-level requirements, interfaces, and architecture in collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams Conduct preliminary and critical design reviews, providing technical oversight and ensuring design integrity across disciplines Coordinate technical efforts with internal engineering teams, business/commercial teams, and potentially external customers to align technical execution with business objectives Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, interface control documents, and requirement specifications Benefits

YOU MUST HAVE Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in engineering or a related technical discipline 2–5 years of experience in systems engineering, including system architecture, integration, and design review participation Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and interface with multiple stakeholders Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail WE VALUE Experience with safety-critical hardware or portable instrumentation Familiarity with wireless networking, sensors, and embedded systems Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards relevant to gas detection products Ability to bridge technical execution with commercial and business objectives Exposure to data acquisition, analysis, and visualization tools such as LabVIEW, Python, MATLAB, or Excel Experience with preliminary and critical design reviews, system validation, and full product lifecycle support About Honeywell
