Overview
TE Connectivity’s R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice. The Wire and Cable Manufacturing Engineering Technician provides support for the economical solutions to create & improve processes for the manufacture of wire & cable. This position interacts with Manufacturing Process Development Engineering Test Laboratories. This position is responsible for the development & industrialization activities required of a high precision, high bandwidth product base. Responsibilities
Product / Process validation & transfer Operate manufacturing equipment for design samples as needed. Assist MPDE engineers with product qualification and process development. Assist all areas of bulk cable manufacturing as required. Support NPI engineering activity. Interact with test lab on process/product qualification activities – DOE, PFMEA, 8D, FA Support Tooling Specification & Design activities. Support additional manufacturing sites as required. Support SAFE Activities Support ISO Activities Provide Technical support for maintenance activities. Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required plus 3+ years of manufacturing process experience or an associate degree in a related field. Good Mechanical aptitude. Working Knowledge in SPC/Six Sigma/Lean. CAD Experience a plus. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of materials, processes, and systems used in the manufacture of wire & cable a plus. Up to 10% International Travel Possible. Capable of handling a high number of tasks at any one time. Attention to detail. Good communication. Must have ability to apply “common sense” in daily activities. Must be able to work effectively on cross-functional teams. Not easily discouraged. Compensation & Benefits
Compensation: Base salary range $53,900 – $80,800 (subject to location). Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits A comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, 401(k), disability, life insurance, employee stock purchase plan, paid time off and voluntary benefits.
