The Aircraft Mechanic Instructor delivers engaging instruction in assigned courses, covering theoretical concepts and practical aircraft maintenance applications. The role includes managing administrative tasks, maintaining records, assessing student performance, and collaborating with faculty to enhance the curriculum. Key Duties
Provide engaging instruction in aircraft maintenance principles and develop curricula aligned with industry standards. Foster a positive classroom environment and provide individualized student support. Oversee administrative responsibilities, including maintaining accurate records and ensuring regulatory compliance. Job Responsibilities
Teach classes on a scheduled basis, fostering inclusive, engaging learning in aircraft maintenance. Collaborate with Program Coordinator and campus leadership to develop/refine curriculum, prepare materials, and schedule classes. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom and lab; ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained. Establish and maintain academic and attendance records, submitting attendance, grades, and evaluations as required. Notify supervisor of issues and implement retention strategies to support student success. Complete performance-based teaching modules, participate in classroom observations, respond to feedback to improve instruction. Attend and/or lead in-service trainings and faculty meetings for professional development. Assist in inventory management of department equipment and supplies. Monitor student attendance closely and alert supervisor to absences to address retention concerns. Complete other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor. Required Qualifications
FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Certificate Minimum three (3) years of hands-on experience in aircraft maintenance (diverse experience considered) High School Diploma or GED Strong command of both theoretical and practical aircraft maintenance; commitment to ongoing professional development Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, compliance-oriented educational setting Detail-oriented, analytical, organized, able to multitask and work under pressure High integrity, strong work ethic, and professionalism Effective verbal and written communication with emphasis on customer service in education Self-motivated, goal-oriented with strong problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and in a team; strong interpersonal skills Excellent computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams) Flexible to work occasional hours outside schedule as directed Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s degree in related field CampusNexus experience Work Schedule Option 2: Monday - Thursday: 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm; Friday: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm What We Offer
