The Aircraft Mechanic Instructor is responsible for delivering engaging instruction in aircraft maintenance, managing essential administrative tasks, and collaborating with faculty to enhance the curriculum. This role supports student success and prepares graduates for careers in aviation. Position Purpose

The Aircraft Mechanic Instructor delivers engaging and comprehensive instruction in assigned courses, ensures students grasp theoretical concepts and practical applications, and maintains records and assessment processes. The instructor collaborates with faculty to improve the curriculum and supports a positive learning environment. Key Duties

Provide engaging and effective teaching in aircraft maintenance principles while developing curricula aligned with industry standards. Foster a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages participation and offers individualized student support. Oversee administrative responsibilities, including maintaining records and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards. This position ensures the aircraft maintenance training program prepares students for aviation careers in alignment with industry standards and institutional goals. Job Responsibilities

Teach classes on a scheduled basis in an inclusive environment that fosters engagement and learning in aircraft maintenance. Collaborate with the Program Coordinator, Campus Director of Education, and Campus Executive Director to develop and refine curriculum, prepare course materials, and schedule classes. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom and laboratory environment; ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained. Establish and maintain accurate academic and attendance records, submitting attendance, grades, and evaluations as required. Notify the Supervisor of any issues and implement retention strategies to support student success. Complete performance-based teacher education modules, participate in classroom observations, and respond to student feedback to enhance effectiveness. Attend and/or lead in-service training, faculty meetings, and other mandatory sessions for professional development. Assist in managing department equipment and supplies inventory and submit replenishment requests as needed. Monitor student attendance and alert the Supervisor to absences to address retention concerns. Complete other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor to support the aircraft maintenance program. Required Qualifications

FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Certificate Minimum three (3) years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience (more diverse experience may be considered) High School Diploma or GED Strong knowledge of theoretical and practical aircraft maintenance with ongoing professional development Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, compliance-oriented educational setting Detail-oriented, analytical, highly organized, with the ability to multitask and work under pressure Integrity, strong work ethic, and professionalism Effective verbal and written communication with an emphasis on customer service in an educational context Motivated, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong interpersonal skills Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams) Flexible and available to work outside scheduled hours as directed by the Supervisor Preferred Qualifications

The salary for this position ranges up to $36 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
