Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrician – New Hyde Park, NY
Northwell Health is seeking a part time or full time Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrician to join the Division of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics at Cohen Children’s Medical Center of New York, a 202-bed tertiary care, free-standing pediatric facility located on the New York City / Long Island border.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a broad range of disorders, including attention deficit disorders, autism spectrum disorder, behavioral issues, developmental delays, common genetic abnormalities (e.g., Down syndrome), sleep and feeding disorders, and educational problems involving speech, language and/or learning. Although the Division is primarily seeking candidates who are BC/BE in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics (DBP) or Neurodevelopmental Disabilities, pediatricians with a demonstrated interest in and considerable experience dealing with children with ADHD or other developmental issues are also encouraged to apply.
Major responsibilities for this faculty position include clinical evaluation and follow-up of children and adolescents with a range of developmental and behavioral complaints in an outpatient setting. New faculty will also be actively involved with resident and fellowship training. Research opportunities may exist for interested candidates with a demonstrated commitment.
The Division of Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics presently consists of 9 attending physicians, 3 fellows, 2 nurse practitioners, 3 psychologists, a social worker, a nurse coordinator, and a clinical nurse. Major programs of the Division include a Developmental Evaluation Program, a High Risk Newborn Follow-up Program, and an ADHD Center. Attendings will have an academic appointment at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.
