Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the nursing service department and its programs in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing care facilities. Develop, maintain, and update written policies and procedures for day-to-day nursing department functions. Participate in facility surveys and inspections by authorized government agencies as necessary or directed. Prepare and plan the nursing service department's budget and submit for administrator review and approval. Determine staffing needs of the nursing service department to meet residents\' nursing needs. Assist the Administrator and HR Director in recruiting and selecting nursing service personnel. Assist HR in developing performance evaluation schedules, criteria, and annual reviews for nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs, medication aides, etc.). Qualifications
Minimum of a nursing degree from an accredited college or university. At least three (3) years of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, nursing care facility, or related health care facility. At least six (6) months of equivalent experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices. Current, unencumbered RN license in this state. Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, families, visitors, government agencies, and the public. Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English. Active CPR/BLS certification. Benefits
