Rapiscan Systems, an OSI Systems, Inc. company, designs, manufactures and markets security and inspection systems worldwide. Rapiscan Systems security and inspection devices can be found in a wide range of locations such as airports, border crossings, railway stations, seaports and terminals, government and military installations, and nuclear facilities. Rapiscan Systems is seeking a Sr Electronics Engineer, based out of Billerica, MA. Base pay range: $140,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr. Work in a cutting-edge, cross-functional engineering team environment. As one of the technical leaders of the EE team, you will be responsible for many of the following design skills: Continually seek and research new technologies for integration into our products. Design and develop embedded hardware and firmware for X-Ray imaging systems. Develop Test Fixtures and/or PCB’s Designed for Test. Develop HDL code using tools such as Active-HDL by ALDEC and applying applicable standards for VHDL/Verilog. Prepare product documentation such as interconnects, schematics, wiring diagrams, PCB Layouts, Assembly Drawings, BOMs, etc. Interpret industry codes and standards and apply them to our design. Lead efforts to ensure compliance with regulatory standards for our products. Capture best practices and develop templates for use by the entire department. Mentor junior members of the team and assist in their development. Collaborate with Sales, Design and Project teams during all phases of the equipment lifecycle to carefully balance product specifications, process requirements, complexity, and cost limits. Perform sustaining engineering functions to maintain and enhance existing products. Support Field Service team and customers with program changes, phone support, problem-solving and troubleshooting. Report quality problems or defects to management for corrective action to avoid recurrence. Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering; M.S. is a plus. Experience with FPGA development and simulation tools required. Xilinx development tool experience required. VHDL experience is required. Experience with programming / scripting languages such as C/C++; LabView a plus. Experience with analog and digital circuits; microprocessor hardware, software, their respective development environment, and tools. Experience with 2D CAD Electrical Schematic packages, such as Altium Designer and/or OrCAD; EPLAN is a plus. Experience with industry standards such IEC, IPC, NFPA, etc. Must be able to complete job responsibilities in consideration of different time zone needs such as attending late night/early morning meetings by phone and/or web to meet business needs Domestic travel required,
