Athens Area Position Summary

Primary coordinator responsible for meeting all contractual, administrative, financial, and logistics requirements for multiple complex outreach and educational training programs totaling approximately $400,000 annually. Deliver assigned programs to a range of local government agencies and public service professional associations as assigned. The programs assigned are both contracted with professional associations and Institute programs that provide specialized and technical training to local and state level government agencies. Assignment of associations is based on conference scheduling, portfolio management, and association contracts renegotiated on an annual/bi-annual basis. Most programs lead to a certificate through the Carl Vinson Institute of Government or are programs needed as continuing education hours for local government officials. The position has authority for contract development and negotiation; design and development of the master event plan and implementation schedule; program development, evaluation and reporting; client relationships and communication; event budget and program account management, conference and event coordination and management; IT development and application; staffing plans; and management of administrative and participant records systems. Duties and Responsibilities

Independently and simultaneously develop and manage multiple, complex outreach and educational projects for contracted clients. Ensure USG standards are applied for certificate programs and that all deliverables and the client as well as University and CVIOG expectations are met for assigned programs. (50%) Manage individual program contracts for each client to include development of ongoing, multi-year contracts, and adjustments in costs for training materials, instructor pay, and travel and lodging. Also make changes as needed to specified tasks and deliverables and delivery dates to ensure all expectations and requirements are shared between the signatories. (10%) Manage each program’s training event’s administrative requirements including budgeting, expenditure accountability, purchasing, reporting and evaluation within University, CVIOG and unit policies and procedures. Additionally, be responsible to secure facilities, lodging, food and beverage and audio-visual support contracts for program training as required. Contracts are to be processed within University guidelines. (10%) Enter and maintain data and reports for each program participant training records and update throughout the participant period of enrollment. Advise participants upon call or electronic communication on class needs for completion or graduation. (10%) Represent the organization at a range of statewide meetings and at all functions for assigned programs to inform program decisions. Develop and maintain relationships with various business partners and clients, providing a range of customer services. (20%) Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Travel, evenings, and weekends may be involved. Driving – as needed to perform job related duties. Lifting and carrying conference materials. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent and 5 years of professional experience Preferred Qualifications:
