Brickworks is seeking a results-driven Buyer to join our Strategic Sourcing & Procurement team focused on optimizing the procurement of Direct and Indirect goods and services across our manufacturing plants, supply centers and corporate functions. In this role, you will support sourcing initiatives, manage supplier relationships, and help execute procurement strategies that deliver cost savings, quality, and risk mitigation. Reporting to the Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Manager, you will play a key role in category initiatives, market and supplier research, and aligning procurement activities with company objectives. Duties: Strategic Sourcing & Category Support Assist with spend analysis to identify trends, cost drivers, and opportunities for consolidation. Conduct supplier market research, gather benchmarking data, and prepare analysis to support sourcing decisions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect requirements and ensure alignment with business needs. Support the development and execution of sourcing strategies for assigned categories. Contribute to initiatives that drive cost savings, value creation, and risk reduction. Prepare and analyze RFQs/RFPs, bids, and supplier proposals. Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery timelines with suppliers Participate in supplier selection, onboarding, and performance evaluations. Maintain supplier records and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. Operational Procurement & Compliance Maintain purchasing records and support contract management activities, tracking renewals, in compliance with company policies. Work with cross-functional teams to forecast demand and confirm delivery timelines. Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to supplier consolidation, risk mitigation, and cost-reduction initiatives. Provide day-to-day procurement support for requisitions, purchase orders, and supplier communications, including issuing purchase orders as needed, in alignment with company policies. Performance Tracking & Reporting Track and report on supplier performance metrics (quality, delivery, cost). Assist in preparing procurement dashboards and reports for management review. Use data insights to recommend process improvements. Required Skills/abilities: Strategic thinking & commercial acumen Linking business needs to leverage scale Strong negotiation and influencing skills Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple categories, projects, and stakeholders Cross-functional collaboration Attention to detail and data analysis Change management and process improvement mindset Education and experience requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or other related field; professional procurement certifications (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) are advantageous 3+ years of procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience Knowledge of sourcing processes (RFx, supplier selection, contract management) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in Excel and procurement tools/ERP systems Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build supplier and stakeholder relationships Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams Experience in manufacturing, construction, or heavy industry is advantageous but not essential The expected salary range for this position is $70,000 – $85,000 annually, based on factors such as experience, skill set, and geographic location.
