The Division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology is recruiting a Nocturnist Hospitalist to cover 8-12 nights (5:00 pm to 7:15 am) per month in the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology inpatient unit. Some weekend day coverage may substitute for some nights. Responsibilities

Clinical Activities

(not related to teaching or research): Assure the safe, efficient, high quality and customer oriented management of patient care to the pediatric hematology/oncology population, including completing a comprehensive assessment of the patient’s status. Develop, monitor and revise, as appropriate, an evidence-based treatment plan addressing diagnoses, disease patterns, risk factors and treatment alternatives. Treat common acute and chronic health problems; interpret diagnostic tests; prescribe and manage medications and other therapies. Provide health teaching with emphasis on anticipatory guidance and risks of therapy complications. Education, Scholarly Activities, Administration

Current Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or PA license for the state of Oregon Appropriate National board certification State of Oregon Nurse Practitioner Prescriptive Privileges Job-Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Experience as a provider to the pediatric hematology-oncology population. Ability to satisfy standards of performance delineated by law and professional practice standards. Ability to manage heavy workload with multiple priorities and inflexible deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Proficient in computing hardware and software, including EMR and word processing. Regular and consistent attendance at work. Compliance

Nocturnist Hospitalist will work 8-12 nights (5:00 pm to 7:15 am) per month in the PHO inpatient unit. The shift begins with face-to-face handoff from daytime providers and ends with a handoff to daytime providers. Physical Requirements
