The Division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology is recruiting a Nocturnist Hospitalist to cover 8-12 nights (5:00 pm to 7:15 am) per month in the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology inpatient unit. Some weekend day coverage may substitute for some nights. The duties of this position include: Clinical Activities (not related to teaching or research): Provide safe, efficient, high-quality, patient-centered care for pediatric hematology/oncology inpatients. This includes comprehensive assessments, developing and adjusting evidence-based treatment plans, managing common acute and chronic conditions, interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing therapies, and delivering health teaching with emphasis on anticipatory guidance and risks of therapy. Current MD license for the state of Oregon and completion of pediatric residency program. Job Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Experience as a provider to the pediatric hematology-oncology population. Ability to meet standards of performance delineated by law and professional practice standards. Ability to manage heavy workload with multiple priorities and inflexible deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Proficiency with computing hardware and software, including electronic medical records and word processing. Regular and consistent attendance at work. Compliance: Code of conduct Respect in the workplace Applicable laws, policies, procedures and related requirements Working Conditions: Nocturnist will work 8-12 nights per month in the PHO inpatient unit. Shift begins with face-to-face handoff from daytime providers and ends with a handoff to daytime providers. Physical Requirements/Demands: Standing for prolonged periods; various surfaces. Sitting for extended periods (up to 8 hours). Walking intermittently several hours per day. Minimal lifting and bending; fine manipulation and gross motor activity; overhead reaching. Twisting and full range of motion as required. Additional Details
