Location: 2727 N Central Ave, Phoenix, Arizona 85004 United States of America U-Haul International, Inc. is hiring a Workers' Compensation Manager to supervise a team of injury counselors and ensure claims are handled in accordance with state laws and company claim standards. This position involves the supervision of staff and the occasional direct handling of tasks and/or claims. This is a fully onsite position located at our corporate campus in Phoenix, AZ. What You’ll Do: Establish and maintain expectations with Work Comp TPA to ensure claims are handled according to U-Haul Service Instructions.

Train and mentor injury counselors while providing ongoing technical support and career development opportunities.

Monitor incoming claim activity to ensure Injury Counselor caseloads are balanced.

Plan and lead quarterly file reviews with TPA and broker.

Review existing programs and protocols to ensure adherence and identify opportunities for improvement.

Utilize data from TPA and U-Haul analytics team to deliver actionable insights to Risk Management Director and executive leadership.

Foster strong relationships with TPAs, excess carriers, brokers and internal stakeholders to ensure claim efficiency.

Review and approve vendor invoices and third-party services related to medical management.

Work closely with team members, TPA, attorneys, and physician teams to communicate and collaborate on workers’ compensation file concerns.

Manage the workflow of assigned workers’ compensation files, including telephone and email inquiries from employers, insurance carriers, attorneys, and nurse case managers, regarding injured workers.

Lead weekly/monthly staff meetings.

Maintain relationships with existing vendors/identify new vendors when the need arises.

What We’re Looking For: In-depth knowledge of WC laws, claims handling, and medical/litigation processes, with experience overseeing TPAs.

Ability to assign work, guide, and develop injury counselors or similar staff.

Proficient in claims trend analysis, risk identification, and presenting actionable insights into leadership.

Skilled in fostering collaboration with TPAs, brokers, attorneys, physicians, and internal stakeholders.

Experience reviewing/approving third-party services and ensuring quality delivery.

Strong prioritization abilities, clear written/verbal communication, and proficiency in claims systems and MS Office tools.
