We are currently looking for a Site Excavation Heavy Equipment Operator (with CDL) to join our amazing team. - Site preparation, grading and access road construction
- Drive, operate and maneuver heavy equipment
- Operation of skid steers, backhoes, excavators, trenchers, and compaction equipment
- Underground utility installation including power and fiber conduit
- Place and compact subgrade for building and equipment foundations
- Place forms and rebar for building and equipment foundations
- Read and interpret grade stakes, site markings, maps, blueprints, and or drawings to move soil according to defined specifications
- Utilize the appropriate and/or assigned construction machinery to safely, efficiently, and productively excavate, move, and grade soils in accordance with the defined parameters
- Properly set up and utilize grade control devices to assist in reaching the defined grade tolerances
- Knowledge of weight requirements of loads leaving the pit
- Use and understand all safety requirements of excavations and trenches
- Perform pre and post equipment checks and reports equipment issues to supervisors
- When required, drive and maneuver equipment equipped with blades in successive passes over working areas to remove topsoil, vegetation, or rocks or to distribute and level earth or terrain
- Work with Foreman, Division Lead, Superintendent, Project Manager, and team to ensure job is done to specifications
- Other duties as assigned
- Class A CDL with air brakes required
- Knowledge of aggregate sizes and classifications
- Knowledge of trenching and shoring standards
- Proven experience as a site laborer
- Having your own tools
- Ability to operate heavy machinery such as backhoes, excavators, skid steers, etc.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Valid Driver License
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
