This position requires knowledge and ability to perform all waste water requirements.

POSITION SUMMARY

Organize, coordinate and oversee the overall operation of Waste Water Treatment Plant activities as requested by Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Supervisor.

Responsibilities and qualifications

  • Daily operation of Waste Treatment Plant
  • Proficiently operate all necessary equipment associated with Water Treatment facility
  • Perform laboratory analysis of waste water samples
  • Obtain a water license within 12 months
  • Obtain a wastewater treatment certificate within one year
  • Work efficiently with little direct supervision
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • All other duties assigned by leadership (Foreman, Supervisor, and Manager)
  • Act as a representative on specials committees as needed
  • Coordinate with outside agencies and vendors including City of Hornell and Dept. of Environmental Conservation
  • Maintain, review, and distribute quality control reports as requested by Maintenance Manager and Supervisor
  • Order and maintain inventory of reagents, supplies, and equipment for the water treatment plant
  • Maintain flow processes to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Review and communicate procedures and policies with management as needed
  • Perform sampling for weekly/monthly/quarterly water quality programs
  • Buildings and Grounds upkeep and security at water treatment facility
  • Support SQF by maintaining food safety through task completion and sanitary practices
  • Maintain all documented information as per SQF requirements
  • Work overtime as needed
  • Understand and follow all safety procedures; wear proper PPE at all times
