Position Title: Attendance/Reception Secretary
Location: New Castle High School

Position Summary:
The Attendance/Reception Secretary serves as the first point of contact for students, families, staff, and visitors at New Castle High School. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate attendance records, providing administrative support, and ensuring efficient communication within the school community. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

Essential Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
  • Maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
  • Accurately record and manage student attendance in PowerSchool.
  • Greet and assist visitors, creating a welcoming and professional environment.
  • Provide clerical support for discipline records and related correspondence.
  • Answer incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate staff or department.
  • Coordinate and schedule conferences as requested.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by administration.
Qualifications/Skills:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or education in office administration preferred.
  • Proficiency with PowerSchool (student information system).
  • Strong computer skills with experience in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Drive, Calendar, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Avigilon camera/security system preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service mindset.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy office environment.
Compensation & Benefits:
  • Contracted for 205 days per year and paid in 26 equal pays.
