Overview

GE Aerospace in Vandalia, OH, seeks a Mechanical Component Engineer for the Sustaining Engineering team. This role will work on Power generation products for Military and Commercial programs, collaborating with Design, Manufacturing, Testing, Quality, and Supplier Quality engineers to ensure production and delivery of high-quality power generation products. Onsite work is required daily at the Vandalia, OH facility. Responsibilities

Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements. Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project. Document technical data generated by the project consistent with engineering policies and procedures. Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments. Participate on teams addressing organizational initiatives and generic issues. Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews. Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated for assigned projects/tasks. Provide engineering/technical support in a production environment. Familiar with Engineering Change (EC), Root Cause Corrective Analysis (RCCA), Cost Analysis, etc. Identify continuous improvement opportunities in terms of product design, testing, and cost. Ability to perform stress, fatigue, thermal, and vibration analysis. Experience in packaging of high-temperature and high-power electronics modules. Experience in thermal materials and solutions. Experience in aerospace component design and packaging. Ability to perform tolerance stackups and experience with GD&T. Experience in design for shock and high vibration environments. Ability to write test procedures and test reports. Understanding of design for manufacturing. Understanding of manufacturing cost and reproducibility. Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university or college. A minimum of 8 years of experience in an engineering role. Additional Information

Onsite work is required Monday-Friday at the Vandalia, OH facility. GE will require proof of status. Role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
