GE Aerospace, Vandalia facility, located near Dayton, Ohio, specializes in manufacturing and servicing power generation and electrical control equipment for aerospace customers. The Mechanical Component Engineer will support Sustaining Engineering for Power generation products in Military and Commercial programs, working with Design, Manufacturing, Testing, Quality, and Supplier Quality to ensure high-quality delivery to aviation customers. Onsite work is required daily at the Vandalia, OH facility. Role and Responsibilities
Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and program requirements. Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project. Document technical data generated by the project consistent with engineering policies and procedures. Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments. Participate on teams to address organizational initiatives and generic issues; present or review at technical and program reviews. Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated for assigned projects/tasks. Provide engineering/technical support in a production environment. Be familiar with Engineering Change (EC), Root Cause Corrective Analysis (RCCA), Cost Analysis, etc. Identify continuous improvement opportunities in product design, testing, and cost. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university or college. A minimum of 3 years of experience in an engineering role. Additional Information
Onsite work is required Monday-Friday at the Vandalia, OH facility. GE will require proof of status. This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information; eligibility for access must be determined by the U.S. Government. Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes Desired Characteristics
