Overview
Light Duty Mechanic, Automotive, Advanced Journey/Lead – DOT&PF State Equipment Fleet. Help keep Alaska moving by repairing and maintaining a wide variety of light duty fleet vehicles.
What you will be doing
Complete repairs and maintenance on a wide variety of light duty fleet vehicles, cars, trucks, and SUVs. Use computer diagnostics to retrieve information, read and interpret diagnosis, prioritize diagnostic steps, and perform resulting repairs.
Perform routine and specialized maintenance and repairs, recognizing and diagnosing problems during preventative maintenance services.
Make repairs to gasoline and diesel engines, identify parts and materials needed, order from parts manuals through the local parts depot, and document time and materials on work orders.
Diagnose, maintain, repair, and modify systems including: transmission and drive trains, suspension, engine and emission systems (including fuel injection), hydraulic systems, brakes (including air), and electrical for light and heavy‑duty equipment.

Working Environment Location: Juneau shop, 6860 Glacier Highway, Juneau, AK. Some travel by small plane to remote locations; travel may include day trips and overnight stays.
