Baltimore County Public Schools JOB DESCRIPTION Provides psychological consultation to school staff and parents, and psychological consultation, assessment, and intervention services to students to address learning, behavioral and mental health needs in accordance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations and The Compass: Our Pathway to Excellence. Performs other duties as assigned. RESPONSIBILITIES Develops school-wide positive behavioral interventions and supports through school-based problem-solving teams, including behavior teams and student support teams. Develops academic and behavioral interventions for students with targeted and intensive needs through student support teams. Identifies conditions and impairments and participates in the determination of student eligibility for disabilities and accommodations under Section 504 through student support teams; participates in the development and review of 504 accommodations through student support teams. Collaborates with school staff to develop student behavior plans, conduct functional behavioral assessments, and develop behavior intervention plans for students with targeted and intensive needs through student support teams and Individual Education Program (IEP) teams. Conducts psychological assessments of cognitive, behavioral, adaptive, social, emotional, and academic functioning for students suspected of disabilities and in need of accommodations and services as needed under Section 504 and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Identifies conditions and impairments and participates in the determination of student eligibility for disabilities and services under the IDEA through IEP teams; participates in the development and review of IEP goals, objectives, and services through IEP teams. Plans for students with special needs involving cultural and linguistic diversity, sensory deficits, neuropsychological issues, communication, social skills, and emotional conditions. Provides behavioral and mental health services for students with educational needs including psychological counseling, crisis response, threat assessment/management, traumatic loss support, and consultation with school staff, parents, independent providers, and community agencies. Provides professional learning and training to school staff and parents to support high academic achievement and positive behavior in schools. QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree, an advanced graduate specialist’s degree or certificate, and/or doctoral degree in psychology, education or human development; completion of a 1200-hour internship in school psychology, or its equivalent. Licenses And Certificates : Possession of a Maryland Educator Professional Certificate with School Psychologist endorsement. OR : Education, training, and experience as required by the Maryland Pathway to Initial Licensure for School Psychologist. Licenses And Certificates : Possession of, or eligibility for, a Maryland Educator Professional License and School Psychologist Licensure. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information. Thorough knowledge of school psychology and practice in education. Knowledge of and skill in the provision of psychological services to students, schools, and parents. Technology competency includes knowledge of and skill in the use of the Internet, word processing, and related applications. Knowledge of and skill in data analysis and integration. Demonstration of outstanding oral and written communications skills. Demonstration of leadership, management, and human relations competencies, including collaboration and team building. PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS The work of this class is generally performed in a school environment. Work may require the ability to move around the school and classroom. Conditions Of Employment Requires attendance at after-school and evening meetings and events. GRADE : Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required SALARY : $64,125 - $120,717 (Valid Until 12/31/2025), $65,468 - $120,717 (Effective 1/1/2026) OTHER COMPENSATION : Position may be eligible for relocation bonus, extra duty activities pay, or other student activities pay as defined in the applicable Bargaining Unit Agreement. FLSA STATUS : Exempt RETIREMENT : Eligible for the Maryland State Retirement System.
