Working Title: Phlebotomy Technician I

Details: The Department of Pathology is recruiting for a temporary Phlebotomy Technician I for our main campus draw station location. This position will perform phlebotomy/specimen collection and a variety of laboratory tasks related to phlebotomy, labeling specimens, telephone inquiries, and distribution of phlebotomy supplies. Typical work schedule will be between the hours of 9:30am - 6:00pm.

Position Responsibilities:

• Performs phlebotomy draws.
• Performs computer data entry and other clerical tasks as required.
• Orders, receives, and distributes supplies.
• Responds to basic phlebotomy inquiries and otherwise represents assigned and related work areas.
• May rotate through additional locations to perform adult phlebotomy procedures.

Compensation and Terms: Hourly rate of pay will be $17.58 to commensurate.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

• High school graduation or equivalent

Desirable Qualifications

• Previous public contact/customer service experience
• Completion of a phlebotomy training program or previous phlebotomy experience
• Minimum six (6) months previous experience working in a healthcare setting
• Basic computer skills
• Previous experience with Personal Protective Equipment
• Previous patient contact experience
