Job Overview

The Department of Pathology is seeking a Laboratory Technician II to perform a variety of laboratory tasks related to specimen collection, specimen processing, waived testing supply distribution, computer/clerical duties, and routine laboratory maintenance. This position is 75% time, Monday‑Friday from 11:30‑18:00, with rotating coverage for absences.

Responsibilities

  • Perform phlebotomy.
  • Collect routine specimens and conduct laboratory testing on clinical biological specimens such as blood and body fluids.
  • Use the Laboratory Information System to accession specimens.
  • Enter data, label, and process specimens collected at Northgate Family Medicine, and develop packing lists in a timely manner prior to courier arrival.
  • Record results of laboratory testing and report results in the Laboratory Information System and to clinicians in compliance with regulatory requirements and standard operating procedures for waived testing performed at Northgate Family Medicine.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • Two years of related laboratory experience including one year as a Laboratory Technician I or equivalent level experience.
  • Certified Laboratory Assistant (CLA) certification.
  • Any combination of related post‑high school education and experience that totals two years.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience performing phlebotomy.
  • Experience performing waived testing.
  • Experience working in a clinical laboratory.
