Overview
Position Summary:
The Account Executive manages the overall contract and relationship with existing complex clients and their consultants. This position owns the strategic renewal plan, develops long term account strategy, and leads the growth and retention of current clients. The Account Executive identifies business solutions that meet client needs and incorporates them into strategic business reviews using in-depth knowledge and specialized expertise. They are responsible for client retention, customer satisfaction, and achieving corporate strategic goals relative to their book of business. The Account Executive serves as the client expert and a resource for others within the organization, sharing best practices to contribute to development of others and providing forward-thinking leadership to move the business forward and lead projects and corporate initiatives.
Essential Functions

Maximizes Results : Systematically manages accounts to maximize results; consistently meets or exceeds sales targets through controlling critical aspects of sales and delivery; leads and coordinates overall team effort; drives customer attention and values their business; increases profitable sales from existing accounts; seeks avenues to generate increased sales from established accounts; uses broad knowledge of multiple business areas and market trends to advance the organization’s goals; understands how the business works and how the organization makes money; stays current with policies, practices, innovations, trends, competition, and marketplace; conducts financial analysis to evaluate strategic options and opportunities; applies clinical knowledge in client interactions.
Customer Focus : Builds strong customer relationships and delivers customer-centric solutions; gains insight into customer needs and helps ensure a better member experience; identifies opportunities to benefit the customer; builds and maintains effective customer relationships; balances short- and long-term relationship needs to execute renewal strategy and organic growth; earns trust through honesty, integrity, authenticity, and reliability.
Communicates Effectively : Develops and delivers multi-mode communications tailored to different audiences; communicates effectively in various settings; listens attentively and adjusts messaging; provides timely and accurate information; solicits feedback to promote customer relations; anticipates communication needs to remove ambiguity.
Manages Complexity : Analyzes complex, high-volume information to solve problems; asks the right questions, gathers data from multiple sources, and collaborates cross-functionally; uncovers root causes; evaluates risks and benefits of different options; anticipates and balances stakeholder needs and communication styles; secures and deploys resources efficiently.
Ideal Candidates
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 8-12 years of relevant experience.
Strong PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Working knowledge of financials.
Strong project management skills.
Superior verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
Ability to negotiate, lead others, organize, analyze and interpret information.
Ability to travel as needed to meet goals.
If working from home occasionally or permanently, internet must be broadband (at least 10 Mbps download / 5 Mbps upload).
