Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent and 2 years of professional experience

Sales and marketing experience
Communications experience creating and editing high-quality written, social, and presentation content
Experience working in fundraising and nonprofit setting
Familiarity with the university setting
Ability to cultivate and solicit gifts from young adults, primarily college students
Ability to respond to donors' needs and concerns in a kind and professional way
Ability to establish the trust of colleagues and build strong relationships with key faculty/staff

Position Summary Reporting to the Senior Director, the Associate Director produces high level student engagement initiatives to strengthen students' affinity for the University of Georgia. This role cultivates and maintains relationships with division and campus departments to facilitate students' preparation for becoming young alumni and staying engaged post-graduation by connecting students with alumni and celebrating traditions. It also supports student giving initiatives (Beat Week, Dawg Day of Giving, Senior Signature) and manages student donor stewardship, aligning strategies and programs for Affinity Councils and campus volunteer groups.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies Experience in volunteer management and event planning.
Ability to motivate, coach, and lead young adults as individuals and in groups.
Experience using social media to tailor content to young adults.
Excellent time management and the ability to prioritize multiple priorities.
Exemplary communications skills (written and verbal).

Duties/Responsibilities
Volunteer Management and Student Supervision Provide coaching and leadership for 50 volunteers of the Student Alumni Council; assist volunteer leaders in developing and implementing strategies to motivate and lead other student leaders/volunteers; communicate and manage volunteer needs for signature events and programs.
Coordinate student volunteer recruitment and training.
Meet regularly with volunteers, including 1-on-1 meetings and weekly council meetings.
Oversee day-to-day work of graduate and student staff reporting to this position.
Develop performance initiatives and provide mentoring to student employees.
Percentage of time: 30%
Student Engagement Programming Oversee strategic planning and implementation of events to build students' affinity for UGA by connecting with alumni and traditions (e.g., Dialogue with a Dawg, UGA Founders Day, Ring Tradition, Homecoming).
Coordinate Freshman Welcome, a signature new student welcome event.
Plan student involvement with UGA and DAR-sponsored events (e.g., Commencement, Career Fairs).
Percentage of time: 25%
Student Philanthropic Engagement Manage a portfolio of signature student initiatives that engage students in philanthropy and connect them with alumni donors (Beat Week, Dawg Day of Giving, Senior Signature).
Oversee student engagement in philanthropic events such as Thank a Donor Day and other campaigns.
Percentage of time: 20%
Support and Administration Update the Giving and Alumni Information Link (GAIL) system with alumni and student interactions.
Assist in budget oversight for events and programs.
Support hiring, training, supervision, and development of student assistants.
Support Senior Director in engaging Alumni Board of Directors and affinity engagement opportunities.
Percentage of time: 15%
Communication, Collaboration, and Campus Impact Establish and maintain positive working relationships with DAR Communications to support marketing goals.
Increase student participation in engagement opportunities in coordination with colleagues.
