Overview
Dental Assistant role at Inside Higher Ed. This position is located in Chapel Hill, NC and supports residents in a fast-paced post-doctoral graduate residency program and faculty operating in private duty practices within the UNC Adams School of Dentistry Division of Craniofacial and Surgical Care.
Responsibilities
- The Dental Assistant provides support to residents and faculty, performing chair-side assisting, sterilization, intra-oral scanning, the pouring and trimming of orthodontic study models, and additional duties as assigned throughout the day.
Minimum Education And Experience
High school diploma or equivalency and completion of an accredited dental assisting program; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience
The selected candidate should be civic-oriented and understand that the university/school atmosphere is different from private practice. The candidate should understand and embrace the wide variety of patients seen in the clinic, and have previous work experience as a dental and (ideally) orthodontic assistant.
Special Physical/Mental Requirements
Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time.
Sign-on Bonus
A SIGN-ON BONUS OF $2,000 IS AVAILABLE FOR THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT OF THIS POSITION. Paid in two installments within 12 months of hire: $1,000 within 30 days of hire and $1,000 after 12 months.

Location And Scheduling
Work Location: CHAPEL HILL, NC. Working Title: Dental Assistant. Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday; 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Salary
Salary Range: $43,260 - $51,795. Salary bands and rates are subject to the applicable state and university policies.
