Overview

Gibbon Packing, LLC an American Foods Group Company has an opportunity for a Recruiter at our Gibbon, NE plant.

As a Recruiter, you will:

  • Actively recruit, interview, evaluate, and select salaried, production, and production support candidates in accordance with hiring policies and affirmative action/EEO guidelines; recruit for exempt and non-exempt positions with emphasis on hourly production and maintenance.
  • Be available for travel to support recruitment; travel amount may vary and can be heavy at times.
  • Serve as a company advocate; research, contact, and build rapport with agencies (community services, colleges, high schools, employment agencies, recruiters, etc.) to identify new talent, provide company information, opportunities, and benefits, and maintain rapport.
  • Attend and coordinate job fairs (onsite and off-site) to attract talent.
  • Attract candidates by placing advertisements across various channels (job services, newspapers, online, radio, billboards, local publications, colleges, high schools, etc.).
  • Maintain and manage job postings (internal and external).
  • Establish recruiting requirements by studying company needs and meeting with supervisors/managers to discuss needs.
  • Improve company attractiveness by recommending policies and practices; monitor offers and compensation practices; emphasize benefits and perks.
  • Determine applicant qualifications by interviewing, analyzing responses, and comparing qualifications to job requirements.
  • Coordinate interview schedules and post-offer functional assessments (PFAs).
  • Ensure hire and pre-employment paperwork is completed per hiring policies.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and maintaining professional networks.
  • Avoid legal challenges by understanding current legislation and enforcing regulations with managers; recommend new procedures.
  • Continually seek innovative ways to attract new talent.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality; this role requires handling confidential and sensitive information requiring discretion and secure information management.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Professional, results-driven, and able to perform duties with minimal direction.
  • Availability to work hours contingent on business needs.
  • Ability to travel as needed; travel may be variable and heavier at times.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources.
  • 2 years’ demonstrable experience in recruiting.
  • Current knowledge of state and federal employment laws and regulations, and labor and employee relations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong computer skills (MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all types of employees and the public.
  • Good time management; ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
