Job Summary

This is an upper level, multifaceted management position, reporting to the Associate Director of Finance and Administration. The HR Manager is responsible for overseeing staff and faculty activity and HR programming for the department, including new employee onboarding for faculty and staff, HR system entry oversight, payroll system oversight, letter of offer development oversight, faculty affairs oversight, FMLA/FAMLI liaison between CU leave team and department, HR liaison for processing of Visas, and HR team supervision and strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • First point of contact with the School of Medicine HR Office and Department of Psychiatry leadership.
  • Budget development responsibilities for HR Core and the Department.
  • Coordinate with HR Program Manager to manage staff and faculty hiring procedures including letters of offer, background checks, and new employee orientation/training.
  • Manage HR Core funding.
  • Subject matter expert on HCM transactions for new hires, salary adjustments, job changes, FTE, funding distribution updates, promotions, additional pay, terminations, etc.
  • Collaborate with HR Payroll Specialist, DOP finance, and Division Administrators on faculty and staff merit increases and HCM processes.
  • Provide HR leadership to Department of Psychiatry collaborators.
  • Organize and maintain HR strategic goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Location

Hybrid — this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in public administration, public policy, business, higher education administration, social sciences, behavioral sciences or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • 4 to 6 years of professional level experience in general HR.

A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis. An advanced degree (Masters or Doctorate) may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis if the degree is in a field directly related to the work assignment. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in CU Systems including HCM, OnBase, CU Data, FIMS, PRiSM.
  • Experience in FMLA and FAMLI.
  • Experience in Smartsheet.
  • Knowledge of CU HR and Finance policies and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and evaluate laws, rules, and regulations to apply them to HR challenges.
  • Knowledge of recruitment, employee relations, or organizational development and HR policy.
  • Effective written and oral communication, including public speaking.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with employees at all levels.
  • Outstanding customer service skills and tact in dealing with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work with outside organizations and the public.
  • Ability to organize and complete complex projects under tight deadlines; attention to detail and being organized.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Anticipated Pay Range: The starting salary range is 64,209 – 81,674 USD. This position may be eligible for overtime as applicable. Total compensation includes leave, health plans, and retirement contributions.
