Faculty position in the Department of Psychiatry Adult Division. The Nurse Practitioner will provide 7-on/7-off clinical coverage of services at the University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora, CO on the inpatient consultation-liaison (CL) psychiatry service. The inpatient CL position involves in-person work providing psychiatric consultation and management for patients admitted to the University of Colorado Hospital on the Anschutz Medical Campus and may involve supervision of nurse practitioners, psychology, and social work trainees. Responsibilities

Perform and supervise psychiatric consultations/evaluations in inpatient medical settings and provide psychiatric recommendations to the consulting teams. Participate in performance improvement activities, quality improvement and patient safety activities; assist in maintaining compliance with JCAHO accreditation and other internal and external regulatory standards including the code of conduct. Actively contribute to academic advancement of the discipline and maintain eligibility for SOM faculty appointment. Help with trainee education in both clinical and didactic settings. Participate in cross-covering/vacation coverage of other CL nurse practitioners. Cover the CL service in a 7-on/7-off schedule (Monday - Sunday). Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and coordinate with partnering services in clinical care and disposition planning of patients on inpatient medical services. Supervision Received: This faculty position reports to the UCHA CL Psychiatry Medical Director and the Department of Psychiatry's Adult Psychiatry Division Director. FTE: The current distribution of effort is 1.0 FTE which includes Clinical and Administrative time. Clinical time includes direct patient care. Administrative time includes coordination of care, educational activities, scholarly work, and supervision of trainees. Work Location

Minimum Qualifications Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with active and current license to practice in the State of Colorado or eligibility for Colorado licensure. Certificate of completion from a nurse practitioner program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). Board Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Master of Science in Nursing or related medical specialty. 1-3 years of clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience. Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate in Nursing or related medical specialty. Masters degree and equivalent experience may be substituted. Experience in consultation-liaison and/or emergency psychiatry. Ability to interpret age-specific developmental, physiologic, and unique care needs by assessment and observation of care delivery. Experience in making psychiatric diagnoses and managing psychiatric disorders. Experience working effectively on a psychiatric behavioral health team. Active before start date to practice as an NP in the State of Colorado. The starting salary range has been established as $122,000 to $137,000. This position is not eligible for overtime unless it is non-exempt.
