Position Overview

United Bags, Inc., a trusted leader in the packaging industry, is seeking a dedicated Accounting Specialist to support our growing accounting team. The Accounting Specialist will play a critical role in managing daily accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with company policies. This position supports our commitment to excellence by ensuring financial accuracy and helping drive operational efficiency across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card transactions, and general ledger entries on a regular basis.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closings, preparing journal entries, schedules, and reports.
• Maintain organized and accurate financial documentation to support business decisions and audit requirements.
• Review and process expense reports, ensuring compliance with United Bags’ policies.
• Partner with internal departments (sales, operations, and logistics) to resolve accounting discrepancies and support business operations.
• Provide support for internal and external audits by preparing required reports and reconciliations.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience; manufacturing or distribution industry experience a plus.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP preferred).
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to work under deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with ERP/accounting systems.
• Knowledge of inventory accounting or cost accounting.
