OVERVIEW
JET Systems delivers data-driven insights that enhance mission readiness, operational efficiency, and informed decision-making across government and commercial programs. Our analytics team designs and implements scalable data models, dashboards, and automation frameworks that provide leadership with real-time, actionable intelligence.
The Data Analyst II is a mid-level professional responsible for developing, validating, and presenting analytical solutions using Tableau as the primary business-intelligence platform. This position requires advanced proficiency across all functional areas of Tableau—data preparation, data analysis, and data visualization—to transform complex datasets into clear, meaningful insights that drive operational outcomes.
This is a full-time, on-site position located in California, Maryland, supporting a government customer. Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Compensation ranges from $95,000 - $135,000 per year, commensurate with experience. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the organization’s primary Tableau expert, leveraging advanced Tableau Desktop and Server capabilities to design, develop, and deploy robust dashboards and reports.
- Utilize Tableau Prep for data ingestion, cleansing, transformation, and integration from multiple structured and unstructured sources.
- Apply Tableau’s analytical functions (LOD expressions, table calculations, parameters, and dynamic filters) to derive accurate and actionable insights.
- Design and implement visually compelling dashboards that clearly communicate trends, KPIs, and performance metrics to leadership.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define analytical requirements, interpret needs, and translate them into Tableau-based solutions.
- Conduct statistical and trend analyses to identify anomalies, risks, and opportunities for operational improvement.
- Support automation of recurring analytics and reporting workflows using Python, Power Automate, or equivalent scripting tools.
- Contribute to JET’s Data Analysis Life Cycle by developing predictive and prescriptive analytics capabilities using advanced Tableau features.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or visualization roles.
- High level of proficiency in Tableau with demonstrated experience in data prep, analysis, and visualization.
- Strong knowledge of Tableau Prep for data cleaning, shaping, and blending from multiple sources.
- Proficiency with SQL for querying, joining, and optimizing large relational datasets.
- Proven ability to create advanced Tableau dashboards using calculated fields, parameters, actions, and LOD expressions.
- Experience managing content in Tableau Server, including user permissions, publishing workflows, and performance tuning.
- Skilled in data storytelling - translating complex analytics into clear, concise presentations for technical and executive audiences.
- Must be able to work on-site in California, Maryland, supporting a government customer.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to pass a background check.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in Data Science, Analytics, or quantitative discipline.
- Professional certifications such as Tableau Desktop Certified Professional, Tableau Data Analyst, or Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst (PL-300).
- Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or aerospace analytics programs.
- Familiarity with Navy aircraft maintenance and supply chain data utilization, including readiness, inventory, or logistics systems.
- Familiarity with Python or R for analytical scripting and automation.
- Exposure to predictive modeling, machine learning, or statistical forecasting.
- Experience applying data governance, data quality management, and ISO 8000/9001 standards in analytical environments.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
- Active Secret clearance is highly preferred.
- Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information as determined by the U.S. Government.
