JET Systems delivers data-driven insights that enhance mission readiness, operational efficiency, and informed decision-making across government and commercial programs. Our analytics team designs and implements scalable data models, dashboards, and automation frameworks that provide leadership with real-time, actionable intelligence.
The Data Analyst I is an early-career professional responsible for supporting data preparation, analysis, and visualization tasks using Tableau as the primary business-intelligence platform. This position requires a solid foundation in Tableau and data analytics concepts, as well as hands-on experience in building dashboards, performing data validation, and supporting automation workflows under the mentorship of senior analysts.
This is a full-time, on-site position located in California, Maryland, supporting a government customer. Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Compensation ranges from $75,000 – $105,000 per year, commensurate with experience. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the design, development, and maintenance of Tableau dashboards and reports that communicate key metrics and operational trends.
- Prepare, clean, and transform data using Tableau Prep, Excel, or similar tools to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Write and optimize SQL queries to extract and merge data from multiple sources.
- Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify insights, patterns, and data quality issues.
- Collaborate with senior analysts and stakeholders to define analytical requirements and translate them into visualized outputs.
- Support testing, validation, and publication of Tableau dashboards on Tableau Server.
- Assist in automating recurring reporting tasks using Python, Power Automate, or other scripting tools.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of analytical processes within the Data Analysis Life Cycle (DALC) framework.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.
- 2 years of professional experience in data analytics or business intelligence roles.
- Working knowledge of Tableau for developing dashboards and analytical visualizations.
- Practical experience preparing and transforming data using Tableau Prep or equivalent tools.
- Proficiency with SQL for querying and joining data across relational databases.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret data, identify trends, and present findings clearly.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Must be able to work on-site in California, Maryland, supporting a government customer.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to pass a background check.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Familiarity with Navy aircraft maintenance and supply chain data utilization, including readiness, inventory, or logistics systems.
- Coursework or certification in Tableau, Power BI, or data visualization.
- Exposure to Python or R for data analysis or process automation.
- Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or aerospace data environments.
- Understanding of data quality, data governance, or ISO 8000/9001 principles.
- Interest in advancing skills in predictive analytics and data automation frameworks.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
- Active Secret clearance is highly preferred.
- Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information as determined by the U.S. Government.
