About the Role
As a Fullstack Software Engineer on the Slideshare team at Scribd, you will play a crucial role in enhancing and maintaining the systems that power Slideshare's global user experience. You’ll be immersed in a modern technology stack tasked with developing user-facing features as well as backend services that handle content uploads, secure storage, analytics, and intelligent discoverability.
This is an exceptional opportunity to work across a diverse spectrum ranging from React-based UI to distributed backend services while collaborating with product, design, AI/ML, and infrastructure teams.
What You'll Do:
Develop and implement new product features using React/Next.js, GraphQL, TypeScript, and Ruby on Rails.
Enhance backend systems that process slideshow conversion pipelines and user uploads.
Contribute to operational excellence by maintaining job workers, queues, and internal APIs.
Create UI components that resonate with the Slideshare rebrand and contribute to our shared design system.
Collaborate with backend engineers to craft integrated full-stack solutions, keeping a strong focus on frontend technologies.
Work closely with product, design, AI/ML, and growth teams to launch innovative experiments and features.
Integrate machine learning models and LLMs into the frontend to create personalized user experiences.
Enhance internal documentation and onboarding tools, which include component Storybooks and service readmes.
We're Looking for Someone With:
A solid understanding of modern JavaScript frameworks, particularly React.
3-5 years of experience in full-stack development, focusing on React, Next.js, and Ruby on Rails.
Knowledge of database technologies such as SQL, Postgres, and MySQL.
Familiarity with AWS cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
Awareness of performance, accessibility, and SEO best practices across the stack.
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively with design, product, and engineering teams.
A commitment to high-quality coding practices, maintainability, and clear documentation.
