Overview The Phlebotomist role at Synectics Inc. involves patient interaction, blood collection, and specimen handling in accordance with established practices and procedures. Responsibilities The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the company to patients. Draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares specimens for lab testing according to established procedures. Explain procedures to patients and ensure a safe, accurate, and professional experience. Demonstrate leadership behaviors with a focus on process excellence and confidentiality of patient information. Perform daily activities accurately and on time under supervision. Maintain a safe and professional environment. Handle forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices. Maintain required records and documentation. Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees and the public. Job Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred Phlebotomy certification Minimum of 6 months experience required; 1+ years phlebotomy experience preferred Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Excellent phlebotomy skills including pediatric and geriatric Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime Keyboard/data entry experience Shift/Time Zone: Mon - Fri 8am - 5pm Benefits Healthcare Insurance through BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois; eligibility begins after 60 days of continuous full-time employment Dental Insurance through MetLife; eligibility begins after 60 days Vision Insurance through VSP; eligibility begins after 60 days 401(k) Plan with enrollment dates each January 1st, April 1st, July 1st, and October 1st Technical Certification Bonus: up to $500 for approved professional certifications; awarded after documentation of completion Legal Synectics Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
